Analytical Technique

Waverton Analytics Ltd is working together with Prism Analytical Technologies, a leading consultative air testing laboratory to provide and support the IAQ Home and Commercial Survey tests in the UK and Europe.

Prism pioneered air scan technology in 1995 with the introduction of TDT Airscan®, which is the standard by which the identification and quantification of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) is carried out. Prism’s proprietary technology uses Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) to carry out the analysis as it is able to rapidly identify and quantify literally hundreds of VOCs from only one sample. Formaldehyde tests are carried out using another advanced analytical technique called UV Fluorescence.

These techniques are extremely sensitive and capable of detecting airborne chemicals down to part-per-billion (ppb) and in some cases part-per-trillion (ppt) levels.

Testing is carried out in an ISO17025 certified, AIHA accredited laboratory by a team of analytical chemists, comprising exclusively of highly trained, degree level analysts. UK-based support is also provided by degree level analysts with, an in-depth understanding of the analytical techniques used for the IAQ Home and Commercial Survey tests.
